Snaring has not been studied in detail but can cause very poor welfare, in part because the animals gradually asphyxiate themselves.
Without controlled culling, the majority of the fox population would be killed, probably less humanely by poisoning, snaring or shooting.
But if snaring a few rodents or making your dog a salad isn't always convenient, choosing an organic dry or moist food is a handy alternative.
