Alas, gone are the days when we had to take camp gear to and from the railroad stations by hired handcarts.
We had two handcarts; my sister and I pulled one, and father and the younger sister pulled the other one.
The people dragged themselves along, some carrying knapsacks or kit-bags, others pushing prams or handcarts, exchanging their goods for food.
