The most common cause of crazing is underfired cookie.
Paint should be bright, although some crazing or hairline cracks in the glaze of most jars is acceptable.
Some crazing (crackly finish) is acceptable but watch for cracks.
For example, crazing on very old porcelain is acceptable; however chips and cracks are not.
