LEOPOLD VICTOR DELISLE (1826-), French bibliophile and historian, was born at Valognes (Manche) on the 24th of October 1826.
On the first of these visits he made the acquaintance of a fellow bibliophile in Petrarch, who records his impression (Epist.
De Bresetz; Les Charlatans modernes, ou lettres sur le charlatanisme academique (1791); Les Aventures du comte Potowski (published in 1847 by Paul Lacroix, the "bibliophile Jacob"); Lettres polonaises (unpublished).
His father was the Rev. Edward Poole, a wellknown bibliophile.
JEAN MICHEL CONSTANT LEBER (1780-1859), French historian and bibliophile, was born at Orleans on the 8th of May 1780.
