Most were handloom weavers who would make bedspreads from morning til night in the cellar to be sold onto Bolton people.
Some rooms have furry bedspreads or delicately embroidered covers, while others are piled with oversized mohair cushions.
Those made of fine cotton, or lawn, are then stitched into these beautiful bedspreads.
